Youth X Bhutan & Educator X Bhutan

Transformational inspired journeys designed to foster reciprocal learning between international participants and Bhutanese students.

What if the most powerful lessons in empathy, sustainability, and global citizenship are woven into the fabric of a nation's philosophy?

Whether young changemakers or educators, participants engage directly with the National Museum of Bhutan, Bhutanese students and a network of civil society organisations (CSOs), contributing their skills while gaining insights into Bhutan’s unique cultural, social, and ecological landscape.

Who are the programs for?

  • Youth X Bhutan — For international school students aged 14 and above.

  • Educator X Bhutan — For international school educators, including teachers, administrators, and coordinators.

What are the experiences about?

  • Reciprocal Learning: Participants collaborate with Bhutanese students on projects that support museum initiatives, cultural preservation, and community-led development programs. In turn, they gain a hands-on understanding of Bhutanese approaches to sustainability, education, and social innovation.

  • Community Impact: Participants work with local CSOs and students from Bhutanese schools on practical initiatives, such as public outreach, workshops, or creative projects that address social and environmental challenges.

  • Skill Exchange: International youth or educators share their expertise—ranging from digital literacy, arts, media, or pedagogy—while learning from Bhutanese practices of mindful engagement, heritage preservation, and community leadership.

  • Cultural Immersion: The program integrates experiential learning in museums, schools, and local communities, including cultural tours, storytelling sessions, and participatory workshops.

  • Sustainability & Legacy: Every project is designed to leave a lasting benefit for the National Museum and the communities involved, creating long-term partnerships and networks.
