In this pathway, school communities work to synthesize a diverse representation of community members’ voices in reimagining, redesigning, or co-creating the school vision and mission, strategic initiatives, and profile of a graduate to clearly unify around the inherent values of the Global Impact School approach: Civic consciousness, intercultural competence, compassionate empathy, sustainable development, and collective wellbeing.
The criteria in this pathway involves thoughtful visioning and reimagining a mission which ensures global and intercultural learning is brought to life. Steps can include:
Establishing common vocabulary
Identifying desired implementation methods
Designing evidence collection methods and indicator systems
Blueprinting plans for action research
Interconnecting best-practice, common approaches to teaching and learning leading towards greater global and intercultural competence.
This second pathway ensures that all stakeholders are involved in creating the unifying mission and strategic plan needed for the Global Impact School endeavor while co-designing the long-term plans for successful implementation.
