August 2025 Theme : Designing Learning that Starts with Empathy
In an increasingly interconnected world, our students often feel more disconnected than ever. How can we reimagine our existing curriculum to foster empathy, strengthen community connections, and empower our students to make a positive impact in their community? Join members of the Inspire Citizens team for an Inspired Conversation focused on designing learning experiences that prioritize empathy. This community gathering brings together like-minded educators to share ideas and collaborate on strategies to place empathy at the heart of teaching and learning this school year.
Guiding questions:
Empathy in the Curriculum: How is empathy integrated into your school’s academic program? Share a specific example (or aspiration) that highlights its impact.
Designing Empathetic Experiences: In what ways can we intentionally design learning experiences that foster empathy and strengthen connections between students, the curriculum and their community? Share a current practice or a new idea you’d like to explore.
Assessing Empathy: What approaches can we use to assess empathy in our students? How can we create meaningful opportunities for them to both show and reflect on their growth as empathetic learners? Share a strategy you currently use or one you wish to implement.

Courses for Future Focused Education
The need for global citizenship education (GCED) has never been more urgent. Together, we can empower educators to create a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world. To support this mission, we’re launching two impactful professional development opportunities for educators worldwide:
1. Short Courses: Flexible Learning for Busy Schedules
Explore our self-guided, bite-sized courses covering essential topics like Empathy to Impact, Harmony with Nature, and Wellbeing in Schools.
We understand that committing to a live course can be challenging, so these courses are designed to deliver the critical learnings of GCED in a flexible format that adapts to busy schedules.
2. Global Citizenship Certificate (GCC): Enrollment opens in September, November and March.
The GCC is an opportunity for educators to dive deep into strategies for fostering global citizenship, sustainability, and student agency while joining a community of like-minded educators.
“The GCC showed me how to align our curriculum with sustainability goals while fostering student agency.”
“It’s not just adding lessons, but weaving purpose into the fabric of education. My students now see themselves as changemakers.”
Thank you for considering working with us.
Both options are designed to empower educators and students to make a lasting, meaningful impact. Let’s work together to ignite change, one course at a time. As we continue to navigate a rapidly changing world, our role as educators has never been more important.
On behalf of Inspire Citizens, welcome to the movement.
