August 2025 Theme : Designing Learning that Starts with Empathy
With Scott Jamieson, Inspire Citizens Global Collaborations Lead
In an increasingly interconnected world, our students often feel more disconnected than ever. How can we reimagine our existing curriculum to foster empathy, strengthen community connections, and empower our students to make a positive impact in their community?
Guiding questions:
Empathy in the Curriculum: How is empathy integrated into your school’s academic program? Share a specific example (or aspiration) that highlights its impact.
Designing Empathetic Experiences: In what ways can we intentionally design learning experiences that foster empathy and strengthen connections between students, the curriculum and their community? Share a current practice or a new idea you’d like to explore.
Assessing Empathy: What approaches can we use to assess empathy in our students? How can we create meaningful opportunities for them to both show and reflect on their growth as empathetic learners? Share a strategy you currently use or one you wish to implement.

Sept 2025 Theme : Reimagining Learning Through Experiential Learning
With Aimee Meditz, Inspire Citizens Director of Inspired Experiences
Experiential learning can ignite curiosity, deepen understanding, and empower students to see themselves as changemakers. But what makes an experience truly transformative? How can we design learning that moves beyond activities to become a catalyst for empathy, agency, and global impact?
Guiding questions:
Personal Stories: Think of a time when experiential learning deeply impacted a student—or you as a learner. What made the experience powerful or transformative?
Design for Impact: How might we intentionally design experiential learning that cultivates empathy, global citizenship, and real-world impact?
Visioning the Future: Imagine your dream scenario: What would a school or learning ecosystem look like if experiential learning were the foundation of everything?
