The Service Learning &
Community Engagement Playbook

A 5-Step Guide for Inspired Educators

The Challenge

The resource aims to address the challenge of effectively integrating service learning into school curricula. Many schools have service learning in their mission statements and strategic plans, but struggle to implement it consistently across grade levels. This often results in service learning being limited to extracurricular activities rather than being an integral part of the educational experience. Our goal is to ensure that ALL students engage in meaningful service learning, supported by structured frameworks and collaboration with community partners, thereby enhancing the overall impact on students and their communities.

Who is this resource for?

This resource is designed for educators, school administrators, and curriculum developers seeking to effectively integrate service learning and community engagement into their school curricula. It targets those committed to fostering meaningful experiences for students that align with educational goals and community engagement.
