Photo!Bomb
In collaboration with ICFM student directors and facilitators, educators and learners are empowered to co-design Futures Media learning experiences, centering on one or more of the ICFM media channels.
Below is an example of a Photo!Bomb module, covering approximately one month of learning experiences for thinking like a professional photographer, photojournalist, photo essayist, and exhibition curator. The module was co-designed in partnership with Western Academy of Beijing Middle School students and their arts department.
This experience was designed and prototyped during a month-long MADDFest arts festival and has since been integrated into interdisciplinary learning in a grade six thematic unit on identity, diversity, equity and “becoming a more caring community.”
The transformative learning goals, mini-lessons, pictures and videos below capture workshop experiences, student photography and learning outcomes leading up to the photography tours and exhibition. The final Empathy to Impact design outlines the learning system for the forthcoming Photo!Bomb experience for all grade six students in the fall of 2021 and beyond.
