Delve into the why, what, and how of future now literacies and how even the definition of literacy is evolving in our present context. How might we read and rewrite the world differently? How do stories shape our communities? How might we view data as a new language, or debate as a way forward to action and positive change? Where does critical media literacy fit in our curriculum? All this and more in this interactive course designed and facilitated by Inspire Citizens.

The course consists of 6 different modules, each module is designed for approximately 4 engagement hours. There are numerous opportunities to dive deeper to expand your learning as you move through the course.
The format of the course is asynchronous with three live sessions. The course opens with a live session on the launch date. Two Socratic Seminars will follow. The live sessions are run across multiple time zones to help accomodate our diverse needs of learners. Live session times and dates will be shared to all registrants.
The two Socratic Seminars are optional but recommended by our team and past cohort members. Each session offers the opportunity to build a supportive and like-minded network, develop new friendships, share and demonstrate deep learning, and have fun. We recommend taking part in as many of the Socratic Seminars as possible!
As you move through each module, you’ll interact with other educators from across the world in our community through a commitment to replies and feedback that spark deeper thinking, encouragement, and fresh ideas for all of our personal, professional, and student learning. We ask for a minimum of 4 replies per module.
At the completion of the course, learners who have completed at least 75% of the course will receive a completion certificate.
