Sheltered Instruction Balloon Debate
CO:
Experience and better understand a research-based sheltered instruction framework by back mapping from the SIOP observation protocol.
LO:
Agree, disagree, state, and justify on which of the components is most valuable to quality EAL instruction (justify your component and delegitimize a weaker component)

Creating a Culture Of Professional Learning
How can we discuss strategies with our colleagues to create a non-threatening professional learning culture?
Speaking: Practicing talking to each other: Modeling critical friends around looks
Writing: Annotate and rate (Hensen and Chen)
Reading: Individual (sheltered instruction background), partner read, small group read of two scenarios
Listening: Critical Friends Protocol (always start with celebrations, follow with 2-3 suggestions)
